Geek Monkey offers home service within the greater St. John's/Mount Pearl area (within 30km of our office). Our experienced technicians provide assistance in a wide variety of categories, including support of printers, smart TVs, console system, home security wifi cameras, wireless and wired networks, phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops.
We have provided customers with extensive knowledge for more than a decade, and we can help you get your computer or network up and running immediately!
Geek Monkey does provide home service outside of our normal service area, and have serviced businesses all over the Avalon Peninsula. In such instances we charge our standard bench rate for the time it takes us to reach your location in one direction.
We have some set prices for many of our common services regardless of how long it takes us. For all others, such as one on one help and training, or component installation, we charge our standard hourly bench rate.
$85.00 per hour plus HST
Minimum 1 hour charge for all home services. Additional time is billed in 15-minute increments. Payment is due upon completion of service.
Geek Monkey accepts all major credit cards, debit, cash, cheques, and email money transfers.
If you have an internet connection it may be possible for your issue to be fixed remotely. We invite you to try our remote support service where a technician can securely connect to your computer via the internet.
In order to connect, a one-time use pin will be generated and we’ll only be able to access your PC with your permission when you download the connection software and click on accept. Once you’ve granted permission, we remain connected for only the duration of time it takes to perform the work. You can view the repairs in real-time as our remote technician fixes your issues, or we can call you when we’ve completed the service. After the work is finished, we disconnect from your computer and cannot view your screen any longer.
If you enjoy the remote support you can also pre-install the connection software for easier use in the future, but this is certainly not necessary.
Payment for remote support services can only be accepted via credit card or email money transfer.
Our technicians are familiar with a wide variety of software applications and platforms, from email to web browsers, office suites to accounting software. We can assist with driver installations and updates, software installations and general troubleshooting of Windows, Mac OS X, and 3rd party applications. If you're having problems with your computer we can help.
Geek Monkey supports more than just computers, including printers, network devices such as routers and switches, smart TVs, gaming consoles, tablets, smart phones, and more. While we don't offer hardware repairs on these devices, we are available to assist with setup, configuration and troubleshooting, all from the comfort of your home.
Individuals today own more and more devices which connect to the internet. Geek Monkey can assist with all aspects of your home network, whether it's wired or wireless. If you have dead-spots within your home we can offer suggestions to ensure all of your devices can successfully connect. From running network lines, deploying wireless access points or power-line ethernet devices Geek Monkey can assist with getting you up and running quickly.
All of our home services can also be performed in our shop in Mount Pearl. You are welcome to drop off your desktop, laptop, or other devices if this is more convenient for you. Appointments are required to drop off equipment.
Geek Monkey is happy to offer complimentary pick-ups and drop offs of your equipment from your home or office if within 30km of our office. We'll work to accomodate your schedule and will gladly disconnect and reconnect your hardware for a stress-free experience.
